The Mansfield Farmers’ Market is run by Allison and Will Walker of Walker Events (www.walkerevents.com.au).  It was started to fill a need in the community of Mansfield for a regular fresh food market.  The Walker family were regular fresh food market shoppers in Melbourne before moving to Mansfield in 2006.  Their two daughters (now 5 and 6) were at their local fresh food market in Oakleigh when they were only weeks old. A food market is a place for the community to come together and celebrate food!

Mansfield Farmers' Market is run as an authentic Farmers' Market as defined by the Victorian Farmers Market Association (VFMA).  An authentic Farmers' Market is a "predominantly local fresh food and produce market that operates regularly at a public location which provides a suitable environment for farmers and food producers to sell their farm origin product and their associated value added primary products directly to customers."

Walker Events is a family owned business that organises community based events in and around Mansfield.  As well as the Mansfield Farmers' Market, Walker Events organises and runs the Mansfield Sustainable Living Festival (formerly A Sustainable World Expo and High Country Health and Wellness Expo) and Mansfield Sustainable House tours (www.asustainableworld.com.au).
