Spring has arrived in the High Country – and the Mansfield Farmers’ Market is kicking off the new season with a fresh face at the market and plenty to look forward to between now and Christmas.
Saturday 12 September is the first market of spring, and it feels like it. The mornings are getting longer, the hills are greening up and our market is ready for a new season of local produce, fresh bread, handmade goods and High Country flavour.
New to the Market — Cripps Seafood
Fresh seafood at a High Country farmers’ market might sound unexpected – but Cripps Seafood is here to make it a very welcome addition to your Saturday morning shop.
Cripps is joining the Mansfield Farmers’ Market this spring with fresh fish, oysters and prawns. Whether you’re planning a weekend dinner or just want something a little different from the usual, this is a great opportunity to buy fresh seafood direct from the supplier. Come early and see what they’ve brought up.
This Saturday’s Stallholders
Boonderoo Bread & Turkish Star Bread — Two of the market’s most reliable bakers, both fresh on Saturday morning. Come early for the best baked goods.
Verduci Produce – Seasonal fruit and vegetables at the start of spring. This is when the produce starts to increase – watch for the first of the new season produce.
Bucks Farm – Homemade jams and relishes in small batches. The kind of thing that earns a permanent spot in the pantry.
The 3 Bees – Raw honey. Local, real and worth every drop. Perfect to help ward off the spring sniffles.
CV Plants & Gardens — Locally native High Country plants. Spring is the perfect time to get something in the ground.
Delatite Special Occasions — Handmade biscuits, marshmallows and macarons. A treat for yourself or a beautiful gift to take home.
Maindample Fudge — Fudge and salted caramel popcorn. A market staple.
Swiftcrest Distillery — Locally crafted gin and vodka. A good excuse to pick up something for the weekend.
Cripps Seafood — Fresh fish, oysters and prawns. New to the market and well worth a visit.
Coming Up – Grand Final Long Weekend, 26 September
If you’re planning to be in Mansfield for the AFL Grand Final long weekend, put Saturday 26 September in your diary. The market is on from 8:30am on the High Street median strip — the perfect start to a big weekend before the game gets underway.
The 26 September market also falls during school holidays, so it’s shaping up to be a wonderful community Saturday in town. More details on that lineup coming soon.
Start Thinking About Christmas
It might feel early, but Christmas at the Mansfield Farmers’ Market is worth planning for. Many of our stallholders take pre-orders for the festive season — whether it’s a hamper of local honey and jam, a case of High Country wine, a batch of handmade macarons or a fresh seafood spread.

And mark this in your calendar now: we’re running a special extra December market on Monday 28 December, 8:30am–1pm on the High Street median strip. A chance to stock up on local goods in that lovely quiet stretch between Christmas and New Year.
