Accessibility
The Mansfield Farmers’ Market aims to be a safe and accessible space for all. We hope that the below information will be helpful in planning your visit to the market. If you have any questions or special requests regarding accessibility please contact us prior to your visit.
Held in Mansfield near the base of Mt Buller in North East Victoria, the market is an easy day trip from Melbourne. Spend the weekend and enjoy all that Mansfield has to offer.
- Public transport
- Bus – The VLine bus from Southern Cross Station stops at the bus terminal in High Street, approximately 100m from the festival site. There is paved footpath between the bus station and the market location.
- Our winter market space is approx 500m from the bus terminal.
- Accessible parking – Please check the map below for information about the location of accessible carparks in the vicinity. The market operates on a grassed median strip with raised curbs (see images below). Free 2 hour street parking is available in the vicinity of the market. Please contact us prior to the market for more information.
- There is plentiful street parking surrounding the market space. There is a single accessible carspace in High Street (outside the Post Office – see image).

- the public toilet block near the High Street / Highett Street roundabout
- inside the fenced playground in Highett Street, adjacent to the recreation reserve, skate park and stadium.
- the Botanic Park at the eastern end of town
- There are change tables available at all sets of toilets.
Please call the market management ahead of your visit if you have any particular concerns or questions around your visit.
-
- Performers – If you are a performer with any questions or accessibility requirements please contact us prior to the market.
- Seating – There are several wooden picnic tables located throughout the market space.
- Music – on occasion there will be buskers or muscial groups performing at the market.
Dogs on a lead (and under control) are welcome at the market. We ask that you are mindful of not allowing your dog near the stalls (as they are food preparation spaces), that you clean up after them and that they are not on a long lead. Service dogs are most welcome.
Our market will go ahead unless it is dangerous to do so – this means that it may be wet and we recommend that you dress accordingly.
We also strongly suggest that you wear layers and warm clothing during the colder months.
Mansfield is located in the foothills of the Victorian alps – it can be very cold! Hat, scarf, gloves and coat are the minimum recommended clothing! More is better than less – especially when it comes to small people.
The regular market space is a grassed median strip in the middle of the road. It has high curbs with concrete footpath access at the eastern end (near the round about) and also midway along the space (near the police station). It is not fenced and shoppers are encouraged to keep an eye on any small people who may be fast on their feet!
During winter the market space may move to an asphalt carpark that is closed to all vehicles, located in Highett street. There are associated kerbs and footpaths around the perimeter of the market space. This area is not fenced.
