The last market of winter brings a bumper lineup to the High Street median strip – including two special one-off visitors and a Saturday morning conversation worth having.
Saturday 22 August is the final market of winter, and it’s going out in style. Alongside the familiar faces that make up the Mansfield Farmers’ Market’s regular roster, this weekend brings a couple of one-off additions that make it a particularly good Saturday to come down to the market.
Spring is just around the corner – and the median strip this weekend has something for everyone, from slow roasted meats and loaded mac and cheese to ready-to-eat overnight oats, freshly baked bread, local produce, native plants and King Valley walnuts.
Special Guests This Saturday
Timmo’s Slow Cooked
This Saturday only. Timmo’s Slow Cooked is bringing their loaded slow roasted meats to the median strip – served on plates with house slaw, potato salads, sauces, pickles and toppings. They’re also serving grilled mac and cheese loaded with meat, plus cornbread. Hearty, delicious and exactly what a winter market morning calls for. Don’t miss them.
Oats My Goodness
Also joining us for one weekend only, Oats My Goodness has ready-to-eat overnight oats, gluten-free granola, granola butter and muesli — all pre-packed and ready to go. A great option for anyone after a wholesome, fuss-free breakfast or snack situation.
Goulburn Valley Water – Water Cafe Pop-Up
Goulburn Valley Water is taking their Water Cafe pop-up on the road across north central Victoria, and this Saturday they’re stopping in at the Mansfield Farmers’ Market. They’re currently developing their next five-year plan for water and wastewater services across the region – including Mansfield – and they want to hear from local customers about priorities, projects and services. Come along, have a chat and make sure the Mansfield community’s voice is part of the plan.
Your Regular Stallholders
The full winter roster is on the median strip this Saturday:
Boonderoo Bread & Turkish Star Bread — Fresh baked goods from two of the market’s most popular bakers. Come early for the best selection.
Verduci Produce – Seasonal fruit and vegetables, locally grown and picked at their best.
Bucks Farm — Homemade jams and relishes in small batches. A pantry essential.
The 3 Bees — Raw honey. The real thing, from hives not far from here.
Sprocket’s Hatchery — Free range eggs and chickens. The kind of eggs that actually taste like eggs.
King Valley Walnuts — Locally grown walnuts, back this Saturday. If you haven’t tried them fresh from the grower, add them to your list.
Delatite Special Occasions — Handmade biscuits, marshmallows and macarons. A treat for yourself or a gift worth giving.
Maindample Fudge — Fudge and their new salted caramel popcorn, now a firm market favourite.
Swiftcrest Distillery — Locally crafted gin and vodka from the High Country.
Young Tree Wines — Strathbogie wine to take home for the weekend.
Red Elk Beverages — Locally made cordial. A great alternative and a market staple.
Bowerbird Nursery — Locally native High Country plants. Spring is almost here – August is the perfect time to be thinking about the garden.
Unfurgettable Dog Treats — Because the dog came too, and they deserve something good.
End of Winter, Start of Something
Saturday 22 August is the last market of the winter season — and from here, spring markets bring new season produce, more stallholders and longer mornings on the median strip.
If you’ve been meaning to come down to the market and haven’t made it yet this season, this Saturday is a good one to start.
